Welcome
Hello my name is John-Thomas Richard, I was born and raised in Southwestern Wisconsin. I first developed my interested in clay during my sophomore year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Art and American History. After graduating, I spent two years working and developing a portfolio for graduate school. I attended graduate school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and graduated in May 2011. In August of 2012, I moved to Cedar Rapids, IA for a residency with the Ceramic Center, at this time I also began working at Kirkwood Community College as a lab technician and Adjunct professor teaching two classes a semester. I continued working with Kirkwood through the 2017 spring semester. In 2014, I began working at Mount Mercy University as an Adjunct professor teaching one class in ceramics and one class in sculpture. Currently, I am an Artist Lecturer with Mount Mercy University teaching 2 classes a semester and managing the Janalyn Hanson White Gallery.
